 Cedar Mailbox Post Kit Assembly Instructions

  1. Pre-Assembly: Complete most assembly before setting the post in the hole.
  2. Crossarms: Apply exterior wood glue (recommend Titebond III) to dowel pins and place into pre-drilled crossarm holes. Attach long crossarm to the front and short crossarm to the back with 3” screws (supplied). For Dualie kits, attach equal-sized crossarms to the sides.
  3. Support Brace: Glue and attach curved support brace to the front of the post with 3” screws. For Dualie kits, attach to the sides.
  4. Mounting Plate: Attach the mailbox mounting plate.
  5. Post Base: If purchased, slide the post base onto the bottom of the post.
  6. Post Hole: Dig a hole 24”-30” deep and twice as wide as the post. Add gravel to the bottom.
  7. Assembly: Set the assembly in the hole and backfill with gravel. Apply caulk around the top of the post base.
  8. Post Cap: Screw and glue the post cap down.
